A warm, gooey, and indulgent dessert, this skillet cookie is perfect for sharing (or not!). With crisp edges and a soft, melty center, it’s best enjoyed straight from the skillet with a scoop of ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (28.4 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons chocolate chips

Instuctions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Prepare Skillet: Lightly grease your 10cm skillet.
  3. Melt Butter: Melt 28.4 grams (2 tablespoons) of unsalted butter.
  4. Mix Sugars: In a bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
  5. Add Vanilla and Egg Yolk: Stir in the vanilla extract and egg yolk until combined.
  6. Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  7. Combine: Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  8. Chocolate Chips: Fold in the chocolate chips.
  9. Transfer to Skillet: Evenly spread the dough in your greased skillet.
  10. Bake: Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes or until the edges are golden and the center is set.
  11. Cool and Serve: Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Tips  

  • Extra Indulgence: Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel or chocolate sauce.  

  • Crunchy Twist: Add chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts for extra texture.
